Vida glow is an Australian company that believes beauty is less about the multitude of lotions and potions we slather onto ourselves and more about what we put inside our bodies. With the help of nutritionists, experts at Vida glow have come up with a unique formula of pure hydrolysed marine collagen that promises to provide health benefits that shine through to the outside leaving skin, hair and nails glowing.

Alongside their collagen supplements, Vida glow also offers a range of beauty powder supplements, all packed with nutrients and organic ingredients. This is a company that focuses, not just on the beauty that is skin-deep, but on all around health and wellness.

In this Vida glow collagen supplement review, I will take a closer look at the range. Exploring the benefits of collagen, the product ingredients and their cost. I will also share my own experience with these supplements. So if you’re curious to find out whether they live up to the hype, read on.

What Vida Glow Offer

All products in the Vida glow marine collagen range are made up of 100% natural marine collagen sourced from the scales of ocean fish and boast no artificial ingredients or preservatives.

Impressively, that’s where the ingredient list starts and ends for the original option.

Although the original is free from any flavour and can be consumed with anything Vida glow also offer several fruit flavoured options for those with an especially delicate palate.

Below is the complete ingredient list for the pineapple flavour so you can see for yourself what goes into these all-natural supplements.

  • 100% Natural Marine Collagen
  • Pineapple Juice Powder
  • Pineapple flavour
  • Stevia

Prices start from $59.95, which will get you 30-servings. That’s enough for 10-30 days depending on the amount you take.

While the price might seem high at first glance, in my opinion, it’s well worth it. Unlike many other quick fixes I’ve tried before, Vida glow marine collagen supplements tackle issues by building health from the inside.

The Benefits of Collagen

The benefits of collagen have long been recognised, it is already a selling point for a myriad of skin creams and hair products. But did you know that aside from water, collagen is the second biggest substance in the human body? The best way to benefit from collagen isn’t to massage it into your skin, but to consume it. (1)

Although our bodies make vast quantities of collagen themselves, by the time we leave our twenties production levels have decreased rapidly, resulting in changes in our appearance such as dull sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles. (2)

Collagen promotes health throughout the body. The most visible effects being on the skin, hair and nails.

With increased collagen levels you can expect to see improvements in the elasticity of your skin, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and brighter complexion. Nails will become longer, stronger and less brittle. While the protein in some cases is known to strengthen hair follicles meaning less fallout and breakage, leading to a softer, fuller head of hair. How to use Vida Collagen

Vida glow recommends taking between 1-3 sachets of marine collagen a day depending on the result you’re looking for.

For those looking for a natural health boost, 1 sachet per day is recommended. For improvement in fine lines or slightly dry damaged hair and nails, opt for 2 sachets. While 3 sachets a day provides the biggest boost for a more dramatic change.

It couldn’t be easier to get your daily dose of collagen, just take a sachet and mix it in with your food or drink of choice. Vida glow claims that the supplements can be mixed with any food or drink, hot or cold.

4 weeks is the average length of continual use before improvements become visible.

My Experience Using Vida Glow Collagen

Persuaded by the promise of younger-looking skin, I decided to test out Vida glow marine collagen supplements for myself to see if their claims are true.

Being a few years past my peak collagen-producing years, I have some fine lines I could live without, so I decided to take 2 sachets a day. Enthused by good reviews, I purchased 2 boxes of the pineapple flavour. Although the original version has a neutral flavour, the company recommends its flavoured line for those with more sensitive taste-buds.

I simply blended one sachet in with my morning smoothie and mixed the second later in the day with a glass of water. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the flavour, but they taste great, you can tell they are made from natural ingredients as they don’t have the same synthetic taste you sometimes find in flavoured products.

I’m not going to say they transformed my appearance. But I’ve been taking them for 2 months now and my skin feels smoother. I look more awake, and my fingernails have stopped breaking like they used to.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I have to say I’m impressed with Vida glow’s marine collagen supplements. I’ve noticed a difference, not only in my outward appearance, but I feel healthier too.

My skin is noticeably smoother. And, while I haven’t noticed much difference to my hair (maybe I haven’t been taking them for long enough), my fingernails have seen enormous improvement. So if you’re looking for a miracle cure for weak, brittle nails, this could be it.

One of the biggest drawbacks is the price-tag. It’s pretty hefty compared with a lot of products on the market. Although after trying it out I would say that for me, the results justify the cost. Though if you’re expecting a major appearance overhaul you may be disappointed. Another possible con is that, because the benefits start on the inside, they may not be visible straight away. Results take quite a while to show through. So if you’re after a quick fix this isn’t for you.

On the whole, for someone after a subtle improvement in overall appearance and health, I would say Vida glow collagen supplements are worth trying.
